Space Standards and Architecture

Space Standards and Architecture 1-hr Video (Course Available)
This course is intended for individuals and organizations that desire to increase their team’s understanding of the benefits of and the usability of (1) Space Standards and (2) Architecture Framework. The one hour version of the course can be viewed (Here)
Key Topics:
  • Understand the role and interaction of the Standards Development Organizations involved specifically in open space standards.
  • Understand the Business Case for open space standards and how standards are a component of commercial best practices.
  • Understand the basic elements of standard architecture, including views, and the role of standards in an architecture. Functional, Service, Systems and Operations Views are dissected.
  • Learn which standards are applicable to different missions. Discuss the Space Infrastructure Foundation Mission Applicability Guide. Discuss Special Cases.
  • Learn how organizations, professionals and missions/projects can be involved in the development, update and use of open space standards.
  • Who Should Attend:
The audience should be spaceflight mission planners, designers and engineers that seek guidance on the broad standards environment and techniques to ‘harvest’ the most beneficial standards to be applied to their missions. This workshop is for mission users, not standards developers. This applies to all engineering domains, but is especially valuable where systems interface across organizational boundaries.
